Reasonable approach. I personally use WW Stratus 7 power cords on all my McIntosh gear only because I prefer the more robust construction, especially the tighter fitting plugs, and appearance over stock cords. I paid no more than $110 for each Stratus 7 cord and they have same technology and quality construction as the much more expensive WW cords. They sound just as good as stock cords but with 'peace of mind' I have virtually the best at very nominal cost.
