By the way, I have shopped audio gear in the Subic Bay Navy Exchange, too. To this day I still use a silverware set I purchased in that Exchange. Sounds like you were there during the same period I was, mid to late '60's. The Subic Bay Navel Station was our overseas home port during the Vietnam war. I served on the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea, CVA-43.

Dan, sounds like we missed each other by a few months. WestPac deployment March-October 1964 as EMO aboard USS Turner Joy, DD-951 (yes, that Turner Joy). Purchased the 500C shortly before we headed home to Long Beach. We'd plane-guarded Coral Sea during a couple of underway training stints off the California coast in 1963.
No question that completing the bedroom system's Wireworld loom with the Eclipse 8s has been an absolute delight.
