With our A5 convertible, a 2 litre turbo petrol engine, we get about 20 mpg ... at 210 km/h on the 'Autobahn'. 
When we drive slower, in the rest of Europe, we can squeeze 34 mpg out of it.
Our A6, 3 litre diesel, can even drive 40 miles on a gallon, and we can tank 21 gallons.
I drive about 15,000 miles per year.
