As a DD and non-suspended TT fan I would go with the Technics. The Technics have been rock-solid TT/TA combinations for many years and the latest renditions have been reported to be the best.
BTW - since SME was sold the new owner(s) has/have increased the price of their audio gear substantially. So much so that I decided to rewire my existing TA rather than go with a new SME 310. You might even turn a profit selling your 309.
