If true, my guess is it boils down to economics. The Classic must be more expensive to make, especially the higher end ones (like my Classic Signature). Fewer/cheaper to manufacture models equals greater economy of scale/higher profit. I much prefer the look of the Classic--VPI will no longer havie anything traditional to offer. And while I am sure the Prime/Prime Signature sound great, each model has its inherent strengths, the Classic's being pitch stability and excellent built in isolation (my 'table sounds great sitting on a plain wooden table). The Classic was Harry's design. I guess they're going for the younger crowd. While I think they offer too many Classic versions at present (especially with the Prime not being all that expensive and good price to performance), they ought to at least keep the Classic Signature in the lineup.
