Hi, I am also curious about the MT5 with an upgraded cart. There is a recent review, end last year IIRC, where the reviewer replaced the stock cart with a Ortofon Cadenza Bronze ($2.3k). The reviewer loved the combination and stressed how important it is to remove the stock Blue Point No2 cart if you want to find out just how good the MT5 is. I used to own a MT10 with the stock cart and loved it. A friend has the MT10 with a Ortofon Winfield. I have read on a different forum of someone putting a top of the line Ortofon A95 ($6.5k) on the MT5 (!!!!!) and loved the combo. If it were me, I would either go with Ortofon or Clearaudio (concerto, Stradivari, or Da Vinci) on the MT5.
