I have no desire to go back to McIntosh, nor do I have a desire to purchase the JC1+. That doesn't say anything about the sound comparison, but you do know I've had a lot of McIntosh gear and if I thought it sounded better I'd own it.
For an average size room the PL300II really work well. So PL500's would be overkill for me right now.
And to be honest, hearing loss, hearing aids, not much enjoyment anymore.
