As with so many things new it is impossible to know for sure, but I think Miles' suggestion to put more hours on the Prime did help quite a bit. I let it run continuously for 3 or 4 days in the end. The bass is decidedly stronger relative to my KAB Technics, which is my reference point, the upper mids and highs are more open and alive (or as I like to say they have a lot of shimmer) and the mids have moved back resulting in a deeper sound stage. Ella Fitzgerald still sounds like she is in the room with Duke Ellington standing beside her on the stage with the band behind them. There is no sharp edge, but definition is excellent. I am starting to like it better and better. Since I have a lot of older jazz records there is a place for both turntables, one stereo and one mono.
