The SP3's DAC is a quality DAC but again the performance of the BDA-3 DAC exceeds that in the SP3.
It could be argued that having all the components in one chassis provides some performance benefits as each component can be optimized for the section ahead and behind it. For example you can come out of the Pi I2S directly into the DAC.

It would also be cheaper to just add the BDA, I suppose, though if I got the Pi I could sell the BDP. Food for thought. thanks again.
