Default Apertures

I finally got around to experimenting with the 2 Aperture panels I picked up from Ivan a month or so ago.

I installed them in a stacked form directly between my speakers about 12” above the floor. This space had previously held a GIK 244 panel and is sandwiched between 4 Vicoustics 2’x4’ Waveguide panels.

The change in sound was extreme and it took my brain some time to adjust. Simply said, the sound stage stayed pinpoint centered but ‘filled’ in and became more coherent across the front. That was a nice improvement. But the biggest and most noticeable change was the increase in midrange volume and overall detail.

I don’t know how they work but they certainly impact the sound in my room and so far, in a very positive way.

Here’s a picture of the current look.
