Quadraspire racks are designed to minimize resonance and similar to other British companies like Rega, approach this by reducing mass rather than increasing it. The shelves are slotted to reduce mass and increase air circulation, and grooved on the underside in a configuration that reduces mass as well without compromising strength. From their website:
