Mike.......I can only tell you that the Gold Lion ECC88 tubes I put in my X-Can headphone amp sound fabulous. They are excellent replacements for the stock tubes. I imagine you will find them slightly more dynamic than the Philips tubes you presently have installed. I believe the Philips tubes are equally as quiet as the Gold Lions. The Philips 12AX7's I used in my MC275 amps certainly were. Give the GL's a try. I don't think you will put the Philips tubes back in if you try the Gold Lion tubes.
