Congratulations on your Ethos purchase! They are really tremendous speakers! And they are absolutely capable in the low end.
What really helps them seem more efficient than they are is that your amplifier need not be worried about frequencies below the crossover point with woofer driver as the Ethos employs a powered amp. That really makes the power draw a lot less than it would be otherwise--though I've never heard of someone using only 24w on ML speakers! I backed away from an MC275 because I was pretty confident that I would need more than 75wpc for my Theos. Fast forward a year and I'm not fully convinced (but I love my MC452 anyway).
I absolutely hear you. Some of my favorite rock tracks are recorded horribly and sound like garbage on this setup. "Revealing" only begins to describe what these panels are capable of.
