I am from Maryland and have been a huge audio enthusiast all of my life.

I stumbled across this forum while researching an anticipated purchase. All of my life I have wanted to own a quality Reel to Reel deck. I have my surround system where I want it, my vinyl is spinning as always and now I want to fill that void.

While researching, I read a post from Vintage Tube/Bob who reported on his treasure, the fabulous Akai 400D. I was truly moved by his obvious love for this unit and if Bob is an indicator of those in this forum, I have found a great resource. Bob, I am now looking for that elusive 400D and if I find it, I will pick your brain. (Oh, thanks for serving. I have two young men in the service myself.)

Having been a member of the Quadraphonicquad forum for years, I know how valuable fellow members can be. I look forward to the banter about everything Audio.
