Jerome.......Yes, I agree. I owned the McIntosh MA5100 and the MA230 integrated amplifiers at the same time. I sold the MA5100 and still own the MA230 which features a solid state preamp coupled with the tube power amp. The MA230 has a wonderfully rich and musical presentation. I can listen to it all day.
