Doug.......Does your power company use the new electronic polling meters? I am not a big fan of them. Since the utility company here replaced my old meter with the new electronic polling meter I get about six to ten polls on the meter every day. When the polling of the meter takes place I get a slight voltage drop through the entire house and I can hear noise in the florescent fixtures for about five seconds. I am not certain how the power company induces their polling signal onto the power lines and through my dedicated utility transformer but I don't like hearing my florescent fixtures making noises and my UPS units around the house clicking to battery and back to utility power during the process. It makes me worry if this polling signal might cause damage to my electronics. So far it hasn't but I don't like what's going on.
