There was one more item I wanted to share with you from the TAVES in the Toronto and it is these bookshelves speakers.
Meet the
Aatma by Reev Designs. They were very impressive to say the least Driven by Lorus, these are not efficient speakers by any means, but they were very gorgeous and the dynamic range was stunning. I would put these in a very close second place to the Bryston Model T, if not ahead. They reminded of the quality and visual candy we normally get with Guarneri from Sonus Faber, but maybe not quite there. If I recall the MSRP was in the $7K range.
I asked the designer if there were other models in this line and he explained he is working on a floor standing model which should be out in the very near future; before Christmas I believe.
If the floor standing model is as impressive in build and quality as this bookshelf model we are in for a very special treat.
They are fabricated in Toronto, and currently the only retailer is American Sound of Canada. I've included the designers website for those curious about these speakers and for better pictures.
