I have seen (and heard) the S1. Visually I like the dual tone appearance of the S5 better, although I suspect that the monocoque enclosure may be more desirable technically.
Sonically, I would rather get a V3 (which I heard at shop environment) than the S1. To me the lesser low end support cannot be fully compensated by the increased transparency. The S3 is truly full range and very attractive to many audiophiles (including me) with moderate sized listening room.
