I'm still listening to the 6k6g tubes but have moved to a short 7n7 with angled plates. Should be the equivalent of any run of the mill Sylvania 6sn7a/b. Sounds great. This is among my favorite tube combos in this amp and it's certainly the cheapest of those favorites! I've got 6k6g tubes from RCA, Sylvania, and Tungsol coming next month.
