Yeah, that's about all that I've come up with too. I've run balanced outputs from my PS Audio Direct Stream DAC to the C1100 and unbalanced to the MX160 - that's the most critical source so that works. Unfortunately by phono pre-amp and Reel-to-Reel player only have one output so not an option - and I don't want to sacrifice the upper frequencies by running a splitter.
Too bad - this isn't a "gotta have" for me but seems like it could be do-able with the right internal switching. Oh well, love everything else about the duo!
