N-01 is a tour-de-force of audio engineering....I don't know how much better it is than N-05 because I haven't heard N-05. All I know is I haven't heard any source component that is as musically engaging as N-01. I can camp in-front of mine for 12+ hours a day without any hint of listening fatigue.
