Mamadou Diabaté - Douga Mansa
via Qobuz
I've always loved West-African music.
This album is a good example of how good it can get.
Think blues (which is rooted in it), but a bit more cheerful, think raga (Indian) but a bit more 'warm' and from the heart and belly, think even minimalist but again not only cerebral.
You have to learn to listen to it, but once you allow it to enter into your system, it gives pure ecstasy, without side effects.
Good recording too.
