No. They are too flat for that. We are loooking for diffusion or absorption of the sound bubble (“Sound in air is the transfer of periodic movements between adjacent colliding atoms or molecules. This sonic energy typically expands away from the site of the collisions as a spherical or bubble-shaped emanation.”)
So objects that have varying surface texture or a cavity work much better.
House plants are excellent, as are artificial plants to diffuse sound noticeably for a more relaxed presentation. Of course dedicated acoustic panels work best when positioned properly.
