Ankkor.......Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the Blue Heaven power cable is Nordost, not Furutech. If the power cable you were using is the Nordost Blue Heaven, it is only rated at 10 amps load despite the 15 amp IEC connectors. Smaller gauge wire always gets hot when it is pushed to it's rated current capacity. Your amplifier will demand more current than a 16 AWG power cable can deliver. At 120 volts the MC1.2Kw amplifier can draw as much as 12 amps on peaks or sustained high output power. Install a 2 meter Wireworld Silver Electra power cord on each amp. It is 12 AWG and can accomadate the power demand of the 1.2KW without breaking a sweat, not to mention they sound spectacular.
Reading you post again, perhaps you are speaking of the Nordost Blue Heaven interconnects which I believe are unbalanced. If you are talking about the interconnects being hot, that does seem unusual.
