Looking at the stereophile measurements, the treble is shelved down above 7kHz at > 15 degrees of axis, so I suspect what I'm hearing is simply that.
So it's most likely the impression of less transparency rather than less transparency in reality.
If this is the Vivid's only vice it's minor and certainly nothing to worry about.
