Just a quick update on the AX-5 Twenty. With about 200 hours on the clock, this amp still continues to show meaningful jumps in improved performance. It's quite amazing (and sometimes startling) to hear additional layers of definition and detail on reference tracks heard hundreds of times in the past!
I know it's all about synergy but I would have to say that the Ayre has really exceeded my expectations and performs exceptionally well in my audio room with all my gear.
The next steps for me will be tweaks and maybe a new rack. I haven't had the OCD-fueled thought process of wondering what other amp might sound better!
