I had my ref5se, then ref6, paired with the esoteric a02 with good results. It was actually a sweet sound. Still, I preferred the ARC GS150 with my ref6.
I'm not saying it can't work, but it's a much "safer" bet to stick with the brand of your choice, knowing that they were developed alongside each other.
