Doug, great post. Christmas memories revolve around trains and presents, inside, and "hoppin' cars" and ice skating, outside. My father had an O gauge set of Lionel trains from the 30s or 40s.
Every year, we'd put out our 4x8 dark green plywood table, lay down tracks, assemble the houses etc., and start the engine rolling. I dearly miss that feeling.
I dream of playing with trains again, as soon as I can get around to it.
