That said I have noticed a difference in CD rips vs Tidal but do prefer my Roon/Mac Mini as source over an external CDP transport on my Accuphase DC37 DAC.
Haven’t really looked back at CD playback in the past 12+ years after switching to Music Servers.

The Luxman SACD player with the USB input capable of 384 kHz/32-bit PCM data and DSD data (2.82 M, 5.64 MHz) has opened up a new realm of high resolution listening for me. Combined with quality recordings from such sources as Sound Liason and there is no going back...
That's where it's at for me. Of course the selection is far from "broad" but more recordings are available just about monthly.
