Thanks! Yes I swap the amps in and out with my system. That's the only thing that changes.

Surprisingly, the amps actually sound more alike than not. The PSE amp with new production Tung Sol 7581A's has a bit more drive at the expense of some of the intimacy of the 45 amp. Both have really good bass (the PSE a touch more and deeper), excellent high end extension (the 45 amp has a bit more air) and fleshy three dimensional midrange. The 45 amp gives me a feeling of being closer to the performer, probably due to better imaging. The PSE's dynamics are startling though.

Both amps again seem to have a house sound that I really like. I'm not a warm and relaxed listener. I value treble and high end extension and realism along with great dynamics, lifelike midrange and extended deep (but not bloated) bass. Both of the amps are very revealing and seem to be perfect matches with my updated Klipsch Chorus II's.
