I think the ceiling is a notoriously under-treated wall.

I find that I was getting smearing off the ceiling, the image would be somewhat unfocused no matter how well the lateral walls were treated. The image would typically pull up a bit especially when I pushed the volume up. I tried compensating with better and better gear which helped but ultimately, you have to turn back to the most basic component of you or system - the room.

The result of the clouds has been dramatic by adding extra density to the imaging and by improving clarity of front to back sound staging. It is like putting on new eyeglasses.
