I am not surprised you heard differences when experimenting under different locations of the chassis bottom. We always encourage experimenting with placing under the chassis versus replacing OEM feet. The latter provides the advantage of being able to separate the component's surface from the Ultra's surface. Doing so
usually yields best performance. As always, there are exceptions so trying both will tell your ears which is best.
That said, careful placement under, without attaching, can be rewarding when you find those "sweet" spots where, for some reason, vibration migrates. Right under a transport is an example.
