i am not too handy either, but was able to build the very simple stands for the Flamencos. Since then I built two pairs of speaker stands for monitors and a gera rack from Home Depot bits - less than $100...ton of fun and a sense of accomplishment.
You can easily do all the stuff needed for the speakers.
BTW - do not underestimate the Montille. I have it paired with Aurieges MM and a Hommage T2 - all my audio friends are blown away irrespectively if Altec WLM or even Yamaha NS1000 is hooked up...
