Here are some more to contemplate and wines that try to keep on hand. These are not daily drinkers but neither are they 50-year anniversary wines either. From France a couple of Bordeaux’s that I’ve been pretty happy with are Chateau Palmer and Margaux. I also really like Bordeaux Blanc and Margaux makes an excellent one. From the Chateauneuf du Pape region of the souther Rhone I really like Chateau Rayas. It’s a 100% Grenache wine that I really enjoy. For champagne anything Krug.

Some California Reds that I don’t think were mentioned are: Paradigm, which is a good value and the wine maker also makes Screaming Eagle. Others are Quintessa, Far Niente, Bond, and Harlen,

As for Italian wines I concur anything Gaja will be excellent. The Piedmont is probably my favorite region with a Barbaresco my favorite wine.
