I use braided Neotech 24ga solid core cable and Neotech NEI-3004 with Vampire XLR jacks for my DIY I/C's. As you would imagine, the silver solid core is a little thinner and more detailed, copper solid core is a little more neutral, and the 3004 cable is neutral with a small emphasis on the bottom end.
Next time Sonic Craft has a sale I'll probably swap my XLR jacks from Vampire to Xhadow(Vampire's premium line).
These wires and connectors are used in cables costing sometimes over $500 under various brand names.
