The high speed compressor cooling fan is the source of the nuisance noise.
It was designed to move air cheaply and effectively. Not much thought was given to the db level during the design process.

Its just what I was lookin for.

I was lookin for a timer that would apply power afer a given interval. Sort of a snooze button.
