Keeping multiple libraries in synch is doable but inherently risky.

However, if you keep your tagging/artwork fully embedded (like JRiver does), then yes, you can move around (i.e. push/pull) files between machines as you wish and have distinct libraries.

DLNA is about file compatibility for playback with 'renderers'; file sharing is a function of your operating systems.
