I truly don't get it. Why should one computer sound better than another???

I'll admit it, I've had my Silenzio sitting idle in the closet for months. I have the Bridge II in my PS Audio DirectStream and have been running Roon via my network attached laptop. I didn't need the Silenzio for USB streaming to my DAC so there it sat unloved.

My laptop has been a little wonky lately, so I decided to break out the Silenzio, install Roon, and get it onto my network.. Both the laptop and the Silenzio had Roon running via the same settings.

Bottom line, the music sounded MUCH better via the Silenzio, but I just can't understand why. Shouldn't the data my DS DAC is receiving via networked Roon be the same no matter what computer is sending it?

Too much for this small mind to ponder (at least after a few wonderful glasses of Blanton's). I guess I'll just have to accept that the Silenzio is an awesome piece of gear.
