Keep in mind there's a lot of older McIntosh that sells for 75% of original MSRP on the open market, or even more. An original C22 preamplifier which originally sold for $399 now commands anywhere from $3,000 - $6,000 today.

Make no mistake, there's every possibility the dealer will come out better in the final wash by trading in equipment than he would with the straight cash customer who's a tough negotiator.
