It was an interesting but dumb design since only the turntable platter was magnetically suspended and the tonearm support was not. This introduced a variable geometric relationship between the two during play which is awful to contemplate.

In addition, one should note that the use of magnetic suspension (vertical, horizontal or both) is not panacea. It is still a compliant suspension and demands control and/or tuning for stability.
