Does anyone use B&W in-ceiling speakers?
I'm thinking of the 7.3 or 7.4.
I like that 7.4 is directional, because my living room has 5 wall speakers mounted in the ceiling. 7.3 is semi directional with the woofers pointing in the wrong direction.
My dealer has the 7.5 in wall version, so that's the best my demo will ever get. I wasn't very impressed with the 7.5 It took an authoritative male voice and made it sound whiny. I'm hoping for a better mid range and upper bass.
8.5 is priced out of budget for this living room project unless they're light years better than 7.3 and 7.4, and the giant box is usually installed when the home is built instead of retrofitting. My home came with Jamo, and they aren't directional.
My use is a normal living room. I watch a lot of news, kids watch cartoons, background music when I'm bored of the news, etc. We occasionally watch movies in the living room, but I have a theater room with great equipment for serious music listening and movie night.
