The cable is basically two unshielded twisted pairs of different gauge and material, with one wire from each pair used for each phase. The wires are terminated the same at both ends, so they are essentially of symmetrical construction and direction should not make any difference...
Anyway, Matt has a hell of a lot more experience with these cables than I do, so I'd stick with his A/3 advice
