Correct when new out of box you will probably hate it.
I did !
Leave it plugged into the wall. turn on the auto dimmer great feature.
Play music here and there five days later presto magic!!
Great Pre with great options and sounds good all the time because it's on all the time.
The auto dimmer lets you think that it's off when your not using it too!
Works for me!
