I've listened and read opinions from people I respect their knowledge of audio. For me, I so wanted to hear a difference in cable or speaker wire upgrades, over the years. But if I'm honest with myself, I doubt that if I did a blind fold test that I'd be able to hear a difference. I agree that upgraded inner-connect cables and speaker wires look great and can give you piece of mind in knowing you've done all you can to get the best possible sound from your system. A suspect though that it's a bit of a placebo effect.
Unless the gear I have isn't up to par to be relevant with this discussion. C2200 pre, MC1201 mono's with B&W 802D's.
I've heard salesmen, at hi-end audio stores, quote percentages about cable and wire upgrades. "...one should budget 30-35% of total system cost" on inner-connect cables and speaker wires. Profit margin is most likely driving that opinion?
