If the transport is indeed like the previous Mac players and there are readily available screws to adjust, then making an adjustment myself makes sense. Perhaps this weekend I'll at least take the top off and have a look, especially if Ms. Butt or someone else at McIntosh doesn't get back to me by then. It sounds as if I'd need only to loosen these screws a bit, then put the top back on. Even one as clumsy as I should be able to do that.

Besides, from what I've read on AA and my C2300 experience, Mac has a history of over-tightening screws so I wouldn't be surprised if the 301 fix is as simple as loosening screws. Now, if the chassis screws are over-tight . . .
