I figured my W20 would probably be the best by far and the ACS would be second place and my QNAP NAS 3rd. My intention was to use this actually as a media server for video files. On that front, wow! The video output is remarkably better than running from my QNAP NAS and even markedly better than playing video files from my W20.

Another amazing benefit which I was in complete bafflement over and had no expectation was holy moly the ripped WAVs from this unit sound spectacular - notably better than ripping my library from my custom built audio PC. And way easier than with my PC.

I think the ACS is definitely worth considering as both an amazingly good quality video server and for Ripping CDs.

I’m a complete video neophyte, could you explain how one goes about obtaining movies in this format and how you play/display these files.

Also glad to hear you feel the ACS does an excellent job of ripping CDs. I have often wondered if I could hear any difference between a ACS10 ripped cd and same cd ripped by my iMac w/ external SuperDrive (XLD ripping app).
