Personally, I've tried them all and always come back to S_dly2. It's all personal preference of course.
Knowing how they think, They probably don't utilize a filter at all with the 4497.

+1 on S_DLY2 when available...
For the 4497 implementation, I have said it before,....it's not just about the chip itself or one spec thereof, it is about the implementation in total around it. Perhaps Esoteric has found a superior way to implement the total architecture and found a way to compensate for the side effects of not using the 4497's available filters.
