My Hanhart Pioneer One Limited Edition. One of 150. Steve McQueen wore a Hanhart 416 SE flyback chronograph when racing, and this watch was made by Hanhart as a 3-hander version of the 416 SE. Photograph by yours truly. Hanhart is one of Germany's oldest watchmakers, dating back to 1882 when they came to fame by making superb stopwatches for scientific and engineering-based timekeeping. They also issued chronographs, e.g. the 416SE, to pilots in the Luftwaffe in WWII. Many American Bomber Command pilots also fell in love with Hanharts and brought them home with them from Germany after their deployment.
I had my Serial Number assigned to be #20, as that is the number of the Porsche 917K that Steve McQueen drove in the movie, Le Mans.
