Too much paranoia amongst us music loving folks. Record industry is trying to navigate this ever changing digital, streaming world. They will eventually find a system that benefits them. If it’s MQA, I say good for us. It’s a high resolution format, it sounds really really good.

The masses couldn’t care less about hi-res and it’s the masses that drive everything. What if a copy protected mp3 format became the only game in town. 90% of consumers would be fine with that.

If a hi-res distribution format engineered for easy streaming takes over as the dominant format, I say that’s a win for us, the music loving quality oriented consumers.

We now have access to studio resolution files of albums that have not previously been released as hi-res download available for purchase. That’s a win. And MQA sounds great. I now have the ability to listen to 1st unfold via Aurender or all the way via a 808v6. It’s a great option to have either way ...... streaming hi-res for $20/month with 10,000+ albums and counting 1 year after roll out is really amazing.

I don’t care if I do not own the music. The benefit outweighs the technical fears of aliasing and potential lossy transmission (in my mind it would be a new definition of lossy as sonically its ALL there).

We are in early days here. IF MQA takes over, it will be years and only if everyone has access to unfolding, not just us early adopters like myself.
