The best way to post pictures on AA is to go to your profile and create an album. Then upload pictures from your computer to your album. Each picture receives a bit of code shown with it that you can copy to insert into a message for displaying the picture. Of course this is a members only method. Click your user name to go to your own profile.
It appears the AA policy for handling pictures changes over time. Depending on where the picture is located, older messages may or may not show it. To ensure picture stability - that is, a picture that will stay with your post over time -use an AA album.
